Dear Parents, Students, and Staff,

It gives me immense joy to join the family of St. Pius X International School as the School Manager. I extend my warm greetings to every member of this vibrant institution.

“They say that education is not the filling of a bucket, but the lighting of a lamp.” I believe that every child carries within them a spark, waiting to be nurtured with care, wisdom, encouragement, and faith.

Allow me to briefly introduce myself. I have been a priest of the Archdiocese of Bombay for the past twenty-six years and have had the privilege of serving in several parishes, including St Michael's Church, Mahim, St Paul's Church, Dadar, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bandra and a decade-long tenure as Priest-in-Charge at St Jude Church, Malad East. Prior to the present appointment at St Pius X, Mulund, I served as the Parish Priest of St Stephen's Church before proceeding on a sabbatical.

Over the years, I have also served as the Director of the Archdiocesan Heritage Museum and as the Coordinator of the Committee for the Promotion and Preservation of the Artistic and Historic Patrimony of the Church a.k.a. Church Heritage Committee. My deep interest in preserving the artistic and historic patrimony of the Church is complemented by my love for Scripture study, writing, heritage preservation, gardening, cooking, music, and the arts. These varied interests have continually reminded me that learning never truly ends; it evolves, deepens, and enriches us throughout life.

Education then, is not merely instruction and academic achievement, but nurturing and learning to live with wisdom, compassion, and purpose. It is here that true and good leaders are born. As someone who values both tradition and progress, I look forward to journeying together in building a community rooted in excellence and holistic development.

As we begin this new academic year, I also look forward to working alongside our staff, parents, and students. I thank the Management, and the entire school community for the warm welcome extended to me. May this academic year be filled with meaningful learning, memorable experiences, new achievements, and abundant blessings for all.

With prayerful best wishes for a successful and grace-filled academic year,

Fr. Warner D’Souza
